To all whom it may concern

Every new year passes with millions of people around the world looking back at their lives and coming up with resolutions as to how they want to become a better person. In many cases they are to be taken very, very lightly, but that is not the point I am trying to make here. Some, on the other hand, try to look ahead at what they will have to accomplish in the year to come and base their resolutions on those aspects.

I can only say that this year, more than any, I belong to the latter group. The last year has been an incredible one for me, with all its ups and downs and choices that were made. Big choices... For instance, the possibility arose for me to start studying architecture starting next October. This is something I have started dreaming of and working towards the last year or so. Learning to draw and reading dozens and dozens of books on architecture has been one of my number one passtimes. Actually going as far as studying it however, depends on so many factors I am still afraid to claim it will really happen.

Graduating is also on the agenda this year. After years of finding my way through the school system I have found my way of doing things and have grown to become the person I am today with a clear view on what I want to do tomorrow. I'm very much looking forward to completing my internship next semester and receiving my piece of paper.

There is also the fact that my parents are moving out (love the irony) in June. They are building a new home for themselves and I will stay in our current place. This also means my girlfriend is moving in and we will be forming our own little family from then on. Not a huge step from where we are now, but one that will certainly define how our lives will look like for the next (I dare say it) decade.

There is much more, but there is no point in spoiling ALL the fun for you. Let alone bore you with more to read. So I'll keep it at that.

One more resolution?
I promise to upload a picture now and then this year ;)

With much love I carry all of you in my heart. Make 2009 a great year, and despite any difficulties, how bad are our lives really? I would say not too bad at all.

Love,
Thomas

An army of permanent markers

I shall write messages all over your cities, encouraging those who seek to improve this world to pick up their weapon and fight for it.

Arm yourselves with your markers and let the world know there are still people who care.

A question for your benefit.

Must we destroy what exists to reinvent it?

The Icarus Generation

Dreamers have no more place in this world
We try to fly but performers drag us down
Performers who make all the rules
Exploiting those who enjoy the beauty of Earth
Why people who want freedom don't make rules is entirely self-explanatory
Yet, anarchy isn't the way forward
Anarchy is an excuse for the maleficient to do harm
A collective search for beauty and freedom
Much like Icarus' desire to fly to the sun
Can save our world.

8x random & ART??!

Brought to you by me, in response to being tagged by *Meneerofongeveer!
:iconmeneerofongeveer:

1. I can be very cocky and elitist when it comes to looking at and making "art"

2. I find most of the art styles boring and tedious to look at and sometimes think that I am the only one who dares to try things and fail or succeed while doing so. But that does not mean that I do not encourage my friends and fellow artists to do what they are good at! Certainly all of you that are reading this.

3. Yes, you can call me a bastard if you want. Or tell me if you were thinking it. But first take a look at this painting if you do. And then tell me what you think it says.

4. I hope in the slight moment of my life the world will undergo a huge change due to a sensibilisation of mankind. There is too little people standing up for the progress of our planet in favour of their own agendas and wallets.

5. I can be hypocritical but I can admit to it. So in a way I think that's fair.

6. The last 6 months of my life have completely turned me around and I feel really damn good now. That is largely thanks to one person.

7. Sometimes I am afraid that one person will not be around for long and I will fall back in my old ways.

8. I am currently drinking my daily cup of hot cocoa and loving it!

Maybe I'm just being difficult, eh...

The 5 people I'm passing this on to are... *drumroll*
